In a fit of rage, the wicked queen destroys the castle from which the girl and the robot need to escape in The Girl and the Robot. The adventure is set in a fairy tale setting, where the player will have to escape from an enemy-controlled building. This is the first part, where a girl meets a robot in the process, who becomes her friend and protector. Together they will overcome massive obstacles, escaping from the clutches of the enemy.

The gamer controls the two heroes in several ways: the girl and the android move around the castle, through different cities and mazes, moving each other. The heroine is able to get to places that are not accessible to the second character. To this end, she uses a jump with which she can climb to heights, crawls, making her way into confined spaces, but is entirely defenseless. If the girl is caught by the enemy, the game ends.

The mechanical creature performs defensive functions and specializes in combat. The character uses a bow for battles with other machines, a shield for defense, and a combination of three hits. Many foes die from as little as 3 hits. After taking damage, the mechanic's armor is damaged, but the girl is able to repair it. In the process of passing the strengths of the characters are actively used. Puzzles take up a good portion of the gameplay and are tied to the mechanics of the switches. Both companions take part here, and together they look for a solution.
