Receiver is a single-player first-person action shooter that uses advanced mechanics to simulate in detail the handling of Glock-17, colt 1911 and revolver S&W Model 10 "Victory". Also, these three weapons have been given real ballistics, and the ability to ricochet off metal structures. Reloading occurs in turn-based mode, you must perform several actions before continuing to shoot. The project aims to simulate all sorts of situations in the most diverse locations, be it a skyscraper roof, a hangar, a factory, a science kit, alleyways, and more. In addition to weapons in the hands of the protagonist will be a flashlight, which helps to consider important details in the poorly lit corners of the maps.

Each available level of the story campaign is a sweep of a specific territory. The gameplay consists of destroying turrets, which are located in the most unexpected places, and flying drones. During the entire walkthrough, the gamer will not meet a single enemy, which will be a man. The story is told in a messy style, as the plot is presented through audio recordings that a virtual protégé can play on his tape recorder. Piecing together information from audio diaries, the gamer gets a complete picture of what is happening in the fictional world invented by a small company of indie developers.
