Brewer is set in a fictional area in Russia, where the player opens a brewery and brews beer, which is mostly sold through bars. Sometimes there is an opportunity to sell foam at a higher price to foreign organizations. As with any management simulator, the gamer starts small and continues to conquer the game world by acquiring pubs located all over the map.

The main screen to look at most of the time is the overhead view of the map and all the towns, but there is another screen when the brewing process takes place. Production can be hampered by random events in the form of fights in pubs between tipsy customers, unexpected visits of inspectors and auditors who try to catch pub accountants cheating in their reports, and the possibility of selling to outside sources. In addition, Brewer has many different types of customers to sell to. Given their requirements for the product, given the available options for price, strength and bitterness of the drink, the player will have to plan accordingly for what he wants to sell.

You'll also have to play a bit of an arcade game in the control simulator here to brew the beer. The mini-brewing game will make you fumble with the dials: you have to hold the arrows on the counters in the green zone. In addition, the gamer gets a chance to make "Signature" Beer that lets you skip the minigame.
